Programs

Science, Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Biz in a Boxx and Discover Science 4 Kids have developed an innovative program designed to get middle school kids interested in STEM education while fostering 21st century skills and career development.

The Science, Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SIE) program is a multi-faceted program that combines hands-on science and experiential entrepreneurship while teaching kids the importance of innovation.  The program, which has already been piloted and tested, aims to solve current challenges in education by showing middle school kids the relevancy of their work and how it can be applied in the real world.

The Program

The SIE program is based upon one of four different themes, from engineering plastic to make toys to using solar energy to create sustainable products for the marketplace.  In a school setting, two classes, science and social studies, are involved in the program whereby kids in the science class are responsible for creating a prototype for a new product based on the theme.  The kids in the social studies class serve as the entrepreneurs and pick the scientist they want to work with, develop a business and help refine the prototype.

The SIE program falls under STEM education, 21st century skills and Career & Technical Education.  Purchase of the program includes both the science and entrepreneurship kits, teaching manuals and teacher professional development.

Hi,

This is an awesome innovation. Please can I have some more information pertaining to the purchase of your products and purchase of the SIE program. I would like to use the product to start a training programme for kids based in South Africa. What are the requirements and do you have a distributor based in this part of the world?
